Art and Design: Textiles

The creation of 2 coursework projects each with preparation work and final piece/s, including evidence of:

·     Developing

·     Refining

·     Recording

·     Realising

The teacher will set the specific themes /topics of the projects.

Completing the 2 coursework projects.

In Term 3 the Mock exam work starts (practical project or individual tasks set by the teacher).

Final exam takes place between January - April (this is a practical project set by AQA) with a few weeks of preparation work followed by a 10 hour practical exam in the teaching room (in exam conditions) to create the final piece/s for this exam project. The theme / topic of the exam project will be chosen from a selection that are set by the exam board.

Key skills investigated and explored then moving into researching and planning for the main unit of coursework, including evidence of:

·           Developing

·           Exploring

·           Recording

·           Presenting

Developing a continued understanding of the A2 style sketchbook or project sheet format.

Also planning the topic of study for the Personal Study, and how it will be based on 1^st hand information / research. 

Working on the main coursework project and Personal Study.

Mock exam (practical project or individual tasks set by the teacher), working towards completion of the prep work and final piece/s for the main unit of coursework.

February 1^st = Begin exam unit - the topic is set by Edexcel.  Again, including evidence of:

·           Developing

·           Exploring

·           Recording

·           Presenting

Completion of prep work for the exam unit of work, with a 3 day exam to complete the final piece/s.
