The students have done exceptionally well, says Principal

Following the first series of students sitting public examinations since the pandemic, Principal Jeremy Single spoke of his pride in the students’ achievements.  These successes continue to build on the school’s excellent results from previous years as the school’s provision goes from strength to strength.

“It was fantastic seeing our Year 13 and 14 students this morning and to congratulate them.  Following the unprecedented challenges that they have faced over the past few years, these excellent results are a testament to their hard work, determination and resilience.  They have done exceptionally well!  I am extremely proud of the students and wish them the very best for the future.”

“I would like to say a big thank you to all of the staff who have worked extremely hard during a very difficult period of time to help ensure that the needs and aspirations of all students have still been met.  I would also like to thank parents and carers for their continued support of the school.”

Gavin Mills, Head of Sixth Form, said: “We are extremely proud of this cohort of students who have shown great resilience and determination throughout what has been a very challenging period in education.  We are delighted with their successes but continue to make ourselves available to all of our students to help them with their next steps beyond Homewood.  We also look forward to hearing about the exciting adventures ahead of them.”

Among those celebrating both results and university places are Edward who achieved Distinction*, A*, A*, Distinction and will be going to the University of Kent to study Actuarial Science, Tommy who achieved A*, A*, A who will be going to University College London to study Maths, Bronwyn who achieved A*, B, C who will be going to Anglia Ruskin University to study Paramedic Science, and Maisie Smith, Deputy Head Girl, who achieved Distinction, Distinction, Distinction and will be going on to study Engineering.
