This is designed to introduce students to the pattern of working at Key Stage 4 and to gain experience and proficiency in coursework based assessment.
OCR (Equivalent to one GCSE)
We provide thorough grounding in ICT skills, techniques and their use in real life contexts. The course is suitable for students wanting to use ICT in their future careers and is an up to date course designed to develop the skills everyone will need in work and leisure time.
We expect that all students will attend ICT lessons at least 90% of the time and make up any absences by extra work at lunch or after school. We offer support sessions most evenings for students throughout the academic year.
There are very few careers nowadays that do not use IT to some extent in everyday working life. Many careers need a high level of ICT skills. There are also a wide range of careers for students working in the IT industry.
The course provides a good foundation for A Levels in ICT and Applied ICT. There are also a wide range of practical courses, NVQ, national apprenticeships and similar which the course offers good grounding for.
