In October 2009, a new and exciting partnership between Canon and Homewood School delivered a state-of-the-art Media Centre. This partnership project is helping to develop Canon’s understanding of the changing needs of the education sector and has promoted cross-organisation planning and development. This centre transformed the traditional relationship between reprographics technologies and the learner, enabling the transfer of skills and knowledge between staff and students.
The Canon Media Centre has provided a stimulating environment in which students can achieve work to the highest standard. There are 5 print release stations available for students to collect their work sent from anywhere in the school from i-pads or desktop computers. Documents will stay on the server until released by the student who each have their own individual usernames and passwords. Each student is allocated a printing budget which is renewed yearly and to be used for school work only.
As well as supporting Homewood Staff and students, the Media Centre is also open to the wider community and have built a substantial client base. Our facilities include Wide Format printers that are capable of producing a range of sizes from standard size photographs to A0 prints.
