  • City and Guilds 7100 levels 1 & 2

  • BTEC level 1 and 2 first award in Hospitality

  • BTEC level 3 national certificate and subsidiary diploma in hospitality.

Catering and hospitality is offered as an options choice at Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5. Learners can chose from a range of courses suitable for all abilities at level 1 and 2.  Learners will spend six hours each week in the catering department. Three hours will be practical work covering the basic skills used in catering, covering areas like health and safety, correct. Three hours are dedicated to theory work, covering the industry as a whole, looking at sustainability, maths and science in construction and much more, all of these are essential to the understanding of the subject and industry as a whole.


The teachers offer over 50 years’ experience in the Catering trade, at a wide range of establishments, including quality restaurants and high level of industrial. With a mission to pass on the skills needed to help learners find employment in a growing industry both home and abroad.  The career paths in catering and hospitality are limitless with many chances of a successful career in the hospitality industry.


With two industrial kitchens the learners learn in a realistic work environment rather than a food technology room. With the Balcony restaurant providing lunch time restaurants for staff and evening restaurant for the public the learners get to cook for real customers, making the learning environment as realistic as possible.  The restaurant facility gives the learners more opportunities for learning and assessment.
