Students in year 7 study a different topic each term and will practise the 4 skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing to prepare them for the end of term assessment. There is a focus on the formation of important grammar structures, such as formation of the present tense with the correct verb endings, negatives in French and the accusative in German.

Pupils are given a link to a Memrise course each term which contains all the necessary vocabulary learning homework. Writing, reading or listening homework is set once a week for most groups.

Students in year 13 receive six hours of tuition a week and a guided study period with a foreign language assistant. Students study two topics each term (one with each teacher) and have dedicated speaking and grammar lessons each week.

Memrise is used for vocabulary learning and written homework is set weekly by each teacher. Grammar practice is also set weekly.
