Nationals deliver these skills and understanding, effectively engaging and inspiring students of all abilities to achieve.

  • Includes hands-on practical experience based upon real life scenarios
  • Covers all core business functions - planning, HR, production, marketing, finance
  • Level 2 includes creating a career development plan and interview skills.

What progression opportunities do the Cambridge Nationals provide?

The great thing about them is that they still give you a choice of opportunities once you’ve completed them.

These include:

Employment, where you can put your new practical skills towards generating an income

Further education, such as a higher-level qualification at school or college: the Cambridge Technical at Level 3 is the most natural route for progression

Cambridge Level 3 Technical Business

Exam board – OCR

Course title –Cambridge Technical Business Level 3 Certificate/Introductory Diploma/Diploma/Subsidiary Diploma/Extended Diploma

Course Length – 1-3 years

Level 3 qualifications have five sizes to choose from.

OCR Level 3 Cambridge Technical Certificate – 3 units of work

OCR Level 3 Cambridge Technical Introductory Diploma – 6 units of work

OCR Level 3 Cambridge Technical Subsidiary Diploma  - 9 units of work

OCR Level 3 Cambridge Technical Diploma - 12 units of work

OCR Level 3 Cambridge Technical Extended Diploma - 18 units of work

Course content:

  • Includes hands-on practical experience based upon real life scenarios
  • Covers all core business functions - planning, HR, production, marketing, finance
  • Level 3 includes creating a career development plan and interview skills.

Assessment structure – Cambridge Technical are exam-free so suit all learning styles.  Assessment is via coursework produced independently with the help of teaching staff.  Units are externally moderated by OCR.

Entry Requirements:  5 GCSEs grades A*-C including English and Maths

The three choices open to you are:

Employment, where you can put your new practical skills towards generating an income

Further education, such as a higher-level qualification at school or college

Higher education, such as a degree course at university.

Access to higher education is possible if you take the Level 3 qualifications because they have UCAS points.
