PE Coursework Deadline Policy | PE Department Code of Conduct

The PE Department would like to inform you of some changes that are going to be made to our policies. We will start implementing them immediately and fully enforcing the consequences from September 2014. Every member of staff within the department will be following the same rules.

If your child forgets his/her kit then he/she will be directed to our spare kit stores to borrow kit which will ensure that they can have a full and active role in the lesson. The kit which they borrow is washed and dried within the department and when it has been worn it is placed in a wash basket to ensure it is only worn once.

The subject teacher will set detentions accordingly each time they forget their kit. If your child forgets their kit 4 times in one term then the Principal Teacher of PE will call home to discuss the situation.

If your child is sick, ill or injured then they must still bring their PE kit and get changed as they will be able to take part in a non-performer role such as leader, organiser or official. We feel it is important that all students are changed to ensure full inclusion in all our lessons. If your child cannot physically get changed then they must inform their PE teacher. If your child has a long term injury or medical problem then please supply a doctor’s note which we can keep on file.

Should your child choose to not follow our rules of borrowing kit then they will be given litter picking kit (bag and gloves) during the lesson; this will ensure that your child is still able to receive some form of exercise.

From September 2014 all our PE staff will also be in Homewood PE uniform as we feel it is important that we set an example and be role models for our students.
